Art Tatum-Ben Webster-Red Callender-Bill Douglass(Verve, 1956)
This album features a session by two big names: the god of piano and the number one tenor of the Ellington band.
It has long been considered a masterpiece, and listening to it again, I find it to be a truly wonderful performance.
I don't mind the datedeness of their style at all.
It's a great album for beginners to jazz, and for me it's an essential album.
