【JAZZ】Richie Beirach/EON(ECM, 1974)
The album begins with a surprising arrangement of Bill Evan's signature song "Nardis" led by Frank Tusa's bass.
With this one song, Richie Beirach's talent as a new pianist in the Evans school was recognized.
The difference between this and the recent trend of the mini-Evans school, which is merely pretty, is that his music is full of spirit and guts.
Tusa's bass solo is also impressive.
Jess's drums are awesome too.
I'm sure I'm not the only one who remembers "Moanin'" from the movie "Kids" on the Slope.
